I’ve still been spending a lot of my time this week on the Thirty Day Challenge and have let a few things slip.

I realized I hadn’t checked my website’s email address for a few weeks and when I checked, there was an email from someone who had opted in on my site and didn’t get their free affiliate manual. So I checked my Aweber account and noticed I hadn’t updated my credit card information and it had expired. I’ve now loaded my new information onto Aweber however I notice I still have a problem. I will work on it and hope to have it all sorted out within a day or so. I do apologize to anyone having a problem.

I don’t know how it happens with other countries, or maybe even with other credit cards, but my credit card was due to expire in June and I received my new credit card about halfway through June. I had received a number of emails in May asking me to update my account details but as I hadn’t received my new card I couldn’t respond to them. By the time I did get the card, I had to go hunting for all those emails and obviously the Aweber email was missed. Maybe next time I will be more organized and print the emails out or at least do a list of them so that I don’t get the problem again.

Thankfully, as I am so busy with the 30 Day Challenge, my friend Leigh said she will have to put her start with Internet Marketing back a couple of weeks. She’s now going to start on September 1 and let me know how she goes.

In the meantime, anyone not working on the 30 Day Challenge should really try it. They’ve unleashed another new tool as there have been major upgrades with Market Samurai also and some of it are going to make big changes to how we do Internet Marketing.

Like many thousands of marketers, I’ve been spending a lot of time this week working on the 30 Day Challenge, doing my market research on Niches then delving down to get a Micro Niche.

If you’ve done the challenge before, finding a micro niche is a little bit easier but you can still run into problems and have to start all over again as there is fairly strict criteria used. Sometimes you will think you’ve found a great product but later when you try to drive traffic to the site, you find out that it just doesn’t work.

For the people who hang in there and stick it out, there is a wealth of information given and you will learn by your mistakes. You will know how to find markets that are profitable and you will learn to let some others go because it may only make you $2 a month.

If you are brand new to Internet Marketing it can seem overwhelming but the value given is priceless. Whilst the live challenge does go for 30 days, it is really ‘full on’ and many people fall behind. However, the website is there all year around and you can take your time and do it over any length of time you want.

What is holding you back from starting?

After spending around $1,000 on useless Internet Marketing products over 2 years agoto try and get started online a couple of years ago, I was so glad when I found out about about the 30 Day Challenge. It is such a great learning curve and a great foundation from which to build on.

If you haven’t heard about it before, the object of the 30 Day Challenge is to make your first $1 online by the end of 30 days and you can do this at absolutely no cost to you. There is no cost to join and as they focus on Web 2.0 marketing, there are no PPC costs. You do have options to set up your website for free although many will spend the few dollars and buy a domain name and hosting.

Last year over 50,000 people tried the challenge although the number of people who would have completed it would only be a fraction of that number. Although it runs live for the month of August, you can join at any time.

Ed and Dan both run very highly successful businesses on the Internet and take the month of August out of their busy lives to give free information to the Internet Marketing world, both to newbies and experienced marketers. In fact, many of the gurus get some of their staff to do the challenge to make sure they are on top of the latest marketing information.

I have done the challenge the last 2 years and will be joining this one as well. If you’ve been holding back on starting online because of costs, this is the absolute best way to get started and I can’t recommend it highly enough. If you want to get started, just go to the 30 Day Challenge website and sign up – what have you got to lose, except a bit of your time?

There has been quite a bit of talk in forums and blogs this last week  about another Google Slap – this time targeting affiliate review sites such as this one.  I can’t say that I’ve noticed it a real lot so far, although I did notice my PPC costs have gone up a little bit and this may be part of it.

Everyone that does Internet Marketing has to keep a close eye on any information coming in  about Google Slaps as they can greatly affect your rankings and therefore your income.  If you don’t do your homework and keep an eye on this type of news you are not doing yourself any favors at all as many websites can disappear for months and only come back into the search engines after a lot of hard work.

If you want to read a bit more about it, head over to Perry Marshall’s blog and read a bit more about it. Note that this is not an affiliate link, just a link to a good read on the subject.

I seem to be running around so much lately and I just realized it’s been two weeks since I’ve made a post.

My daughter and young grandson finally moved out a week ago and I’m still trying to sort the house out.   When she moved back in with me just over 4 years ago, we put some of my furniture in the garage as her dining and lounge room furniture was a lot larger than mine.

Now I’ve put my furniture back and the rooms appear half empty although I’m still trying to sort through things.  On top of that, I decided if I had to go through my garage that I may as well have a good clear out in there at the same time, so have been busy clearing and cleaning.

I’ve also got together with a couple of friends looking into starting an offline business and I am about to start coaching my friend Leigh into her first try at online marketing.

It all adds up to being very busy at the moment.

Things have just been so hectic lately that I haven’t seemed to find time to update my blog.

I’ve been busy with my IT people making major changes to my website design.  I’ve also been testing out a couple of new products and been getting great results and have put two of the products up on my website.

I was approached a short time ago by an absolute newbie (Leigh) for help in starting up with Internet Marketing to achieve an online income.  She wants to start with the Clickbank Code product that I am now recommending so we are going to set up a diary and note down how she goes.

My home life is undergoing change also as my daughter and her young son, Harley are preparing to move out and relocate to the country town where she was born and brought up.  She has been living with me for over four years now, just before Harley was born so things are going to be very quiet around here and it will take some time to adjust for all of us.  I was birth partner with her and have been a second parent and while it is sad to see her go, she needs to make hew own decisions about how to live her life.

Most Internet marketers who have been around for a while are familiar with Stompernet.  Stompernet is headed by a group of 10 Internet Marketing Gurus – all of whom had to have generated some $10 million in Internet Sales to be invited to join.  They occasionally open their door to new members for about $600 a month and have also run a number of courses, the most recent of these was their Formula Five course which generated a lot of income for them.

Their other popular product is STSE2 (Stomping the Search Engines 2) which is a continuity program offering a monthly DVD and magazine with lots of information for the internet marketer.

Now they have started up a new course on Search Engine Optimization – and the best part of it is that so far, it’s FREE!!!

Click here or on the link above and try it out.  I’ve already got some very worthwhile information from it.

I’ve been a follower of Mark Ling for quite some time now and just had to comment on his new product. Like many Internet Marketers, you keep up to date by trying other marketers products occasionally to see if you can make improvements to your own sites which will enable you to generate more income.

Mark has come up with a great product this time and I am really impressed. I’ve gone through his free course to see his style of teaching and found it really helpful. Mark has done quite a few interviews that I have listened to and has quite a number of products out there, including his best seller Traffic Travis.

I really don’t recommend that many products, but whether you are brand new to Internet Marketing or already earning reasonable income, this product is not one you want to miss. Just click here to find out more.

Even though I unsubscribed recently from a lot of the gurus, my inbox has been inundated this last week with advertisements for setting up Continuity Sites.

The main culprit is Ryan Deiss and his Continuity Blueprint however there are a couple of others out there as well, offering to help you set up your own membership sites so that you can rake in lots of money every month.

Now I don’t say the thought of all that extra money isn’t appealing but unless you’ve been around Internet Marketing for a while and already making very good income from other websites and have plenty of time available I wouldn’t touch it.

Be honest – how many forums do you belong to now and aren’t they free? And most of the time don’t you get great value from them for free?

I’ve joined a couple of continuity sites over the years and have unsubscribed within about 3 to 4 months because I found I just wasn’t getting any value from them. They start out with a lot of promises that they don’t fulfill and then give you a lot of information that you either already know or could find for free on the internet anyway.

I know of one guy (an Internet Marketer and quite rich from it) who has been a full member of Stompernet for over 2 years, paying some US$600 every month and still hasn’t watched one of the videos that are sent to him every month. What a waste – donate the money to a worthy cause if you want to give it away each month.

So many people seem to try and focus on earning $5,000 a month and yet it seems unattainable so they keep buying the next ‘how to’ product that comes along and that doesn’t work either.

The only way to start earning an income online is to start with that first dollar. Admittedly you have possible spent a fair amount more than that, but when you see that first ‘you made a sale’ email or opened up your clickbank account and seen an amount in the earnings column you can at least have a small celebration.

OK. so you haven’t made ‘it’ so far, but you have started the journey. My first payment was for $27 and it was so great to see after so much time, effort and money spent. Then the next month it was close to $300 then started to build up slowly and my costs for PPC started to get covered (like many, I spent way too much at first and my bottom line was negative).

To make $5,000 a month is not an overnight process. Concentrate on building up small profits from your site and then start tweaking and split testing to see if you can improve sales by making small changes. Maybe it is time to start up another website to see if you can sell something different.

The main cost to you if you are starting out is time – how much time a day are you spending on this now? Is the time that you spend productive or do you waste much of it checking out all the other new offers that come out daily?

Here is a great quote from Anthony Robbins “Short term pain equals long term pleasure …. and short term pleasure equals long term pain”
